NIKE SB JULY '09 QUICKSTRIKE AND LAKAI

Nike SB P Rod 3 Wear Test Weekend....L.A.

Spent the weekend out in Los Angeles for the "Day with Paul" event that Nike SB hosted.  Nike flew out key retailers from all over the U.S. and Europe to participate in and celebrate the launch of Paul's 3rd shoe.  It was a short and sweet trip but one that won't be forgotten any time soon.  We skated both Paul's parks...the public one first and his private spot later in the afternoon.  I was pretty turned around after all the bussing...but I think they were both in the Valley...and thus, a billion degrees.  Skated with hella peeps and had a super rad time.  Of course we kicked it poolside a little....I mean...we WERE in L.A. right?

Thank you nike for shipping me out and putting me up.  It was good to kick it with all those dudes.

First stop was this mega spillway roller. Unique, and has a couple 

different ways of hitting it other than the life ending roll in option.

Then off to kokomo for some boggling xxx bent fullpipe terrain. The lines are amazing

fun, but getting on the lip will leave you with limps and lumps.

The final stop was the best. We drove an hour south to bloomington and scouted

this spillway that kendall skated in an old santa cruz video. The top of the dam was 

this mini wave wall,

And the rest had just been rebuilt!! This monster has brand new tranny banks

and lips on the whole length of it, which is well over 200 yards long!! All different sizes and slopes, with drop offs, hips, and lips. Look at the size of lil hutchie in the left of this shot. Well worth the trek, soggy boards, and infected road rash.

Soooooooo I got invited to the Wear Test Weekend for Nike SB's launch
of the new Paul Rodriguez 3. Nike gathers select SB accounts and flys
out a representative from these stores. This year, I got picked again.
We're headed to both Paul's parks tomorrow. Here's a sneak peek at
what his new shoe looks like...oh wait, this is just the fancy box and
such from my special pair. Waiting for me when I got back to my room
this evening. Stay tuned...
